Money Management Tools
Mission Statement
The mission of Money Management Tools is to make personal finances understandable. This website is for those who do not work in financial arenas and do not want complicated jargon. The information I will present is for people in various life stages, but with an emphasis on families starting out. I am here to read, digest, analyze and present a subject which is often complicated as simply as I can and as though you were my friend, neighbor, or family member. As a former certified financial planner, now a technical writer, I will use whatever it takes to explain every money management tool I can uncover using examples, case studies, stories, pictures, charts, graphs, and worksheets for you to download.
My Motto: Make It Simple; Make It Clear; Make It Helpful
Though I have done many financial plans in the past, in order to be as up-to-date as possible, I am currently retaking every course taken by CFPs and I will the newest money management strategies I review with you every step of the way as a technical writer and student of the subject. This site is for informational purposes only. I strongly recommend that you consider a fee-only CFP for advice for your specific situation. It is my hope that you will know what questions to ask so you can make the best use of his or her time and consulting fees.
I won't try to impress you with the jargon of the trade, but will use simple, clear language because you probably do not have the time or desire to become a pro in this field. You have kids and you have a life. I hope to clear away the clutter to give you the freshest, easiest-to-digest information that you need to build a secure financial future.
I envision you in my kitchen with a cup of coffee. We are having a conversation; one that I hope will bring you insights that will honestly help you with your research into money opportunities or money related problems that need solving in your life. You will find a lot of money management tools as worksheets that you can download to step you through getting a handle on your personal finances. Very often, I'll point you to books I have read or software I have used that you might want to check out at the library or pick up online.
